The Space Between the Bristles: A Hairbrush Story 12 October, 2026

Boar-Bristle Hair Brushes

A hairbrush often enters the morning almost unnoticed. A section of hair is gathered, the brush turns in the hand, and the next movement follows. Look at the tool from the back, though, and an ordinary routine begins to reveal a different story: the shape of a brush helps define the way it is held and used.

The back tells part of the story

The rectangular and oval vented styles in this collection have curved, open backs, with nylon pins and boar bristles. The spaces are visible features of their construction. In the original styling photograph, the rectangular brush is held through a section of hair beside a dryer. The image offers a useful view of the tool in context: where the handle sits, how the section meets the brush and how much of the back remains open.

The rectangular version measures approximately 8 cm across and 24.5 cm overall; the oval measures approximately 7.2 cm across and 22.6 cm overall. These two styles use nylon, ABS and boar bristles. Their wood-toned appearance should not be confused with the material of the round option.

Three shapes, different movements

The round style has a beechwood body and straight rows of boar bristles, and is offered for shaping sections of hair. Each option is one brush. The collection therefore gives you three shapes to consider, rather than a single shape in three colours. Brushing through a section, gently lifting at the roots and guiding hair while blow-drying are the uses shown for the collection.

The story is in that meeting of an everyday gesture and a particular shape. An open curve, an oval outline or a round body can make the same dressing-table scene feel quite different. Start with the movement you want to make, then choose the option whose stated purpose and shape fit that routine.
